Discover community and faith at Hills Chapel.
Our History: Hills Chapel was established as an African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church. The land was deeded in 1869 for the purpose of erecting a church building for Sunday Worship Services. This building would additionally be used as a school throughout the week for African Americans living in Tate County Mississippi. Members of this local community came together to construct the building.
Whereas the church continues to exist. The school was dissolved in the mid to late 1930s'.
